The 2021 Ford Explorer has all the capability and versatility you need in one terrific package. With seating for up to seven and an ingenious Cargo Management System, you’ll find convenience at every turn. Whether you’re headed across the country or just across town, there’s room for everyone (and all their things)!
Available third-row PowerFold seats make accommodating passengers and cargo a breeze. When the seats are upright, the Explorer seats seven comfortably. With the touch of a button, fold the third-row seat down to make room for extra cargo, or use the 60/40 split-fold option to fit extra cargo. The PowerFold option makes loading and unloading so much easier than it ever was before.
Sit in comfort! The King Ranch model is a prime example of luxurious interiors. Leather seating with heated and ventilated front captain’s chairs and power everything:10-way power front seats that include power lumbar and power recline. Second-row seats with power-fold and heat, including feature armrests and an easy-to-manipulate tip-and-slide feature. Third-row seats also provide power recline and power-folding head restraints.
For a little extra pizazz, add the available Twin-Panel Moonroof, which opens to provide fresh air, extensive sky views, and moonlit drives with the touch of a button. It’s large enough that the backseat crew will feel included, too!
Technology
Features like SYNC 3 have revolutionized our expectations of travel. SYNC 3 turns your Explorer into a Wi-Fi hotspot for up to 10 devices at one time. We know the backseat crew will be happy to hear they can share, stream, and download all while traveling along.
Don’t worry about packing enough chargers. Our available wireless charging pad makes it easy to stay connected. Just place your device on the pad for charging on the go!

The available 10.1-inch LCD capacitive portrait touchscreen means you’ll stay connected at every turn. Safety
Your safety is our priority. With new driver-assist technologies like Ford’s Co-Pilot360 Technology suite, you’ll feel more confident than ever out on the road. The options are standard across almost all Ford models, but be sure to ask a sales team member to explain which features are available on the model in which you’re most interested. Some safety features include:
- Blind Spot Information System. When a vehicle enters your blind spot, our system alerts you by illuminating a small light in the corresponding side-view mirror. It’s that simple – and that revolutionary.
- Lane-Keeping System. When the system detects you’ve inadvertently left your detected lane of traffic, it gently alerts you to refocus on the road ahead. If the system registers that you’ve left your lane of traffic multiple times, it suggests that a cup of coffee and stretch of the legs may be a good idea.
- Auto High-Beam Headlamps. Our system detects ambient light and controls your high and low beams accordingly. You’ll never accidentally blind oncoming traffic again, and you’ll always have the best light levels available to face the journey in front of you.
