Lifesaving Safety Features: Ford Co-Pilot 360

No matter how careful a driver you are, the unexpected can happen. Whether you get distracted or another driver does, accidents can happen. With Ford Co-Pilot 360, you can drive with confidence.

Mohawk Ford has been serving Hamilton, Ontario, since 1968. We care about the members of our community and want to help keep you safe every time you drive.

Whether you have a Ford and want to learn more about Co-Pilot 360 or are looking to purchase a Ford for its outstanding safety features, Mohawk Ford is here for you.

Ford Co-Pilot 360 is Ford’s suite of safety features. The exact features vary by model, but every Ford vehicle has some safety tech to help you out.

Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross-Traffic Alert

Changing lanes can be stressful. You look over your shoulder, check your mirrors, look over your shoulder again, and say a little prayer as you cross into the other lane.

The Blind Spot Information System uses sensors to detect any vehicles you do not see. As you begin to change lanes, an icon will light up in the corresponding side mirror to let you know it is unsafe.

The Cross-Traffic Alert does the same when you are backing up. If a bicyclist or pedestrian enters your pathway, your vehicle will let you know.

This feature will give you peace of mind and protect those around you.

BLIS with Trailer Coverage

When you are towing a boat or trailer, you can still change lanes with confidence, knowing your vehicle is keeping an eye on your trailer, too.

Pro Trailer Backup Assist

Reversing with a trailer attached is challenging, even for the most seasoned driver. With the turn of a knob, you can let your vehicle know which way to go.

Lane-Keeping System

Drifting towards the side of the lane happens to all of us. You may be changing the radio station or checking on the backseat passengers; whatever the reason is, when your eyes leave the road, even for a second, you can start to drift.

Lane-Keep continuously scans your position between the lines and will alert you if you start to deviate from the center. If the alert is triggered enough, a coffee cup icon will let you know it is time to get off the road.

Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking

Whether it is a child dashing across the road or unexpected brake lights, your vehicle will let you know if there is a potential collision ahead. If you do not react in time, your vehicle will step in and apply the brakes.

Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control

Cruise control has been around for a while, but advances in technology now let it recognize speed signs and adapt to changes in traffic flow. Turn it on, set your speed, and relax a little.

Evasive Steering Assist

If a vehicle ahead of you breaks down or happens to be going way too slow, your vehicle can support your maneuvering. You are still in control, but your vehicle gives you a little extra steering power to get around it.

Reverse Brake Assist

When you back up, it can be hard to spot things around you. If a garbage can or child is in the way, your vehicle will let you know and can even apply the brakes if needed.

Rear View Camera

Unless you are part owl, seeing behind you can be tricky. The rearview camera lets you keep your eyes ahead and still know what is going on behind your vehicle.

Active Park Assist 2.0

Some people are blessed with the ability to park anywhere. For those of us who are not, there is Park Assist.

Your vehicle can detect a parallel or perpendicular spot and slide the car right in. Press the button to turn it on, take your hands off the wheel, and let your vehicle do the rest

Auto High-Beam Headlamps

Focusing on the road is the most important thing you can do when driving, and it can be easy to forget about your high-beams. Sensors on your vehicle note light conditions and will take care of turning the lights on and off.

The lights will even be dimmed when your vehicle senses oncoming traffic.

Hill Descent Control

If you are driving a larger vehicle or hauling a trailer, Hill Descent Control gives you a little extra control. Set the speed you want, and your vehicle will make sure you do not go over it.

Let Co-Pilot 360 Assist You

These safety and driver-assist features might sound like they are from a sci-fi book, but they are something you can definitely use to keep you and others safe while on the road.
